Recruitment, retention, and well-being—we can help. As the place for equity in the child welfare workforce, the Center for Workforce Equity and Leadership (CWEL) is here to support your agency.

The timeline below shows what participating sites can expect while working with CWEL accounting for key phases like assessment, strategy implementation, and post-strategy support.

Interest

1-3 weeks

We’ll engage with you to explore interest and answer your questions.

Exploration

1-3 weeks

Once you’ve completed the interest form, we’ll invite you to meet with us to mutually decide if CWEL is right for you.

Selection

1-2 weeks

We’ll select agencies based on readiness, capacity, and Children’s Bureau priorities. Not selected? You’ll receive resources and guidance to help you regardless.

Assessment

4-8 weeks

To understand your strengths and challenges, we’ll partner with you on an agency assessment designed to minimize the burden on your staff.

Strategy

12-18 months

Depending on the strategy or strategies you choose, our services can take 12 to 18 months.

Post-strategy Support

Up to 12 months

Sad to see us go? CWEL can support your agency after services are completed. Think booster training and coaching sessions!
